As the founder of SJE, I am filled with immense pride to share my heart and soul with all of you. At the core of Sierra James is a story rooted in family and sisterhood.

People often ask about the origin of the name "Sierra James." It combines my own middle name with my younger sister’s middle name, James (which is also my father's name!). I truly believe that in the process of planning weddings and sharing in your journey, we move beyond mere professional relationships and become a family. Sierra James embodies the spirit of the family and the bonds we form as we navigate these beautiful, challenging, and amazing moments in our lives.

With over a decade of experience in this industry, I have not only honed my craft but also forged lasting friendships. The Sierra James community extends beyond blood relations, reflecting the beautiful connections made during this incredible journey.

Life took an exciting turn in my late twenties when I met my soulmate, and in September 2023, we began our forever journey. My own wedding showed me the pure magic of meticulous planning mixed with heartfelt moments.

With a decade of project management & sales under my belt, transitioning into wedding planning was a natural fit. Joining Sierra James Events alongside the talented Devon in October 2023, I found joy in creating unforgettable experiences.

As Lead Planner and Coordinator at Sierra James, I ensure your special day unfolds with grace and perfection. From managing timelines and vendors to collaborating closely with you to bring your vision to life, I promise a stress-free and magical wedding day.

If you’re reading this, you’ve found the literal dream team! When I joined Allysa & Devon at the beginning of 2024, SJE was BOOMING with over 40 weddings booked for the 2024 wedding season! It’s been nothing short of fun & excitement ever since.

I’ve been a coordinator for 12+ years. I worked as a coordinator for a commercial general contractor & I also ran events for many restaurants, breweries, venues.   My natural need for doing the absolute most pays off with every event I get the opportunity to design, coordinate & execute. I’m passionate about creating beautiful & seamless experiences.  Being an intuitive & nurturing person, I genuinely care about my clients & their vision, ensuring every detail is tailored to their needs. Whether it’s a wedding, big milestone or corporate event, I’ll be there to make sure the planning process is stress free & enjoyable. Marissa Connors

I joined Sierra James Events in early 2024 after working in project management and corporate event planning for the last 15 years. Transitioning to wedding coordinating has proven to be the perfect match, as it allows me to combine my love for design and decor with my strong project planning background. My goal is to seamlessly blend creativity with organization to ensure every detail of your wedding day is perfect.

Having been a bridesmaid six times (yes six!), I have seen the impact a wedding coordinator can have on a couple and how enjoyable (or not) the overall experience can be. As for my own wedding, after getting engaged just before the global pandemic at the end of 2019, we opted to elope with just the 2 of us and hosted a big outdoor party at our home months later.

My love language is acts of service, which shines in through in my commitment to making every couple’s special day as stress-free and magical as possible.
